A pre-professional performance experience… for all ages and levels.
All regular Soma students are invited to join our student company. Our company performs up to 4 shows annually: two mid-semester shows created & choreographed by Soma staff and two classic shows, choreographed by Soma staff and guest artists.
All shows are geared at providing training in participating in a fully professional company. Students of all a ages gain valuable professional experience at any age.

Dance is more than performance— it affects our daily lives! As artists, we believe in the power of art (and especially movement!) to help heal bodies and communities. Our goal is to make dance and movement more commonplace and to develop an appreciation for performance in our area by reaching out through accessible and nontraditional performances and programs that invite our community in to what we do.
Education.
Quality education is of the utmost priority for our artists. We make every effort to bring in a diverse range of guest artists and masterclass teachers to provide a well-rounded education experience. We also want to ensure that our performance experiences provide the education our members need to be ready for the professional world. Our company members will receive the best in education and professional performance experience.
Performance.
As one of the only professional dance companies open to all dancers in Southern Kentucky, we focus on providing unique and high quality dance performance opportunities. We pair fully professional dancers with pre-professional students to provide a well-rounded and thorough performance experience that benefits everyone.
We are constantly expanding what performance means, especially in these trying times for live experiences. We strive to push the boundaries of dance theatre and will continue to innovate and adapt as we see fit.
